Born 1958 in Khartoum, he graduated from the Egyptian High Film Institute. Hamed first began his career as an assistant director to Saad Arafa, Mohamed Khan, Sherif Arafa and Raafat ElMihi in films like Written Promise, The Fest, Play with the Big Boys and O Pudding. He made his debut with the 1989 comedy Love in the Refrigerator. Nine years later, he directed Mohamed Heneidy in the smash comedy An Upper-Egyptian in the AUC." Hamed’s films also include Hammam in Amsterdam, Short and T-Shirt and a Cap and The President’s Cook.
